Description

Hope House DC was established to assist incarcerated individuals who have been transferred to facilities far from their home communities. Their mission is to develop programs that support incarcerated fathers and their families, to provide advocacy and increase awareness about the impact of incarceration on families, and to support the children and families of incarcerated people from the DC area. Hope House DC provides services to incarcerated individuals and their families designed to decrease recidivism and foster connections between incarcerated individuals and their communities. The Father to Child Program, for example, offers a way for incarcerated fathers to communicate with their children in DC. The Homework Project encourages fathers to develop character-building projects that promote non-violence and positive relationships.
