Los Angeles County Department of Human Resources Fair Chance Employer
Human Resources at Los Angeles County prides itself on being a Fair Chance employer and serving all community members. The purpose of the Fair Chance initiative is to create job opportunities for individuals who typically face barriers in the workforce due to justice involvement or criminal conviction. With the exception of a handful of positions, applicants are guaranteed that they will not be required to share a criminal conviction history during the application and interview process. Only those individuals who receive a contingent offer of employment are required to support a conviction history. The county will then determine if convictions directly affect the specific requirements of the job in question. Additionally, the county is committed to considering exigent factors, such as evidence of participation in rehabilitation and/or recovery support programs, as well as the time since the last conviction.
