Description

The New Jersey Association on Correction is an organization working to end poverty and ensure social justice equity for all. Their mission is to support social justice and human rights in the policies and systems that oversee individuals with a criminal conviction and survivors of crime through community education, legislation and policy work, and rehabilitative programs for individuals. Their vision is to create a community in which all individuals have the ability to live in safety and with self-sufficiency. They operate reentry programs for individuals exiting the corrections system in Trenton, Newark and Paterson, New Jersey. These programs provide transitional housing, mentorship and assistance with securing permanent employment. They also offer limited medical treatment for individuals with medical needs that impede their ability to live independent, self-sufficient lives. Survivors of domestic abuse and/or sexual assault are eligible for programming designed to support them throughout the healing process.
