Description

The Paul E. Wilson Project for Innocence and Post-Conviction Remedies is a law clinic at the University of Kansas, School of Law focused to help incarcerated people who otherwise might not receive legal representation. The project handles post-conviction and habeas corpus cases; provides advice/assistance on civil matters only to incarcerated people in state facilities and in Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary. Students in the clinic represent state and federal incarcerated people in appellate and post-conviction litigation in state and federal courts, including conducting fact investigations, locating and working with expert witnesses, drafting pleadings, filing motions, preparing appellate briefs and creating case strategies.
