Sunshine Community Health Center provides quality health care services on a sliding scale to residents of rural Alaskan communities. They are committed to accessible and holistic wellness through outreach and education. Founded in 1987, Sunshine Community Health Center has always had the goal of offering affordable medical care in order for their clients to achieve their wellness goals. Services offered include patient advocacy, basic primary care, telemedicine, behavioral health care, pediatrics, dental, vision exams, labs and x-ray, pharmacy, orthopedics, and transportation to the clinics. In addition to medical care, they connect patients with resources such as food banks, legal assistance, and care coordination. Sunshine Community Health Center accepts private insurance, state funded insurance and uninsured patients at their three convenient locations in Talkeetna, Willow and Wasilla. The Alabama Therapeutic Education Facility (ATEF) helps prepare participants to transition from incarceration to re-entry. It is a residential facility that provides comprehensive behavioral, vocational and educational services to prepare incarcerated people to enter the Work Release Program.
