Description

Since their establishment in 2001, The Ordinary People Society has played a vital role in helping to mobilize and organize communities in the deep South. T.O.P.S. understands the disparities in housing insecurity, police interaction and bail in impoverished areas. They offer advocacy and support to justice-impacted individuals in these communities. T.O.P.S. works with the most heavily impacted people, including support services for underrepresented communities and those impacted by generational poverty. Their framework is oriented around developing movements that dismantle barriers that continue to disenfranchise specific populations. Housed in Alabama, The Ordinary People Society is committed to community restoration across the South.
