WestCare, a collection of nonprofit organizations, provides a wide spectrum of health and human services in both residential and outpatient environments. WestCare’s goal is to “uplift the human spirit” by providing the skills and support for people to achieve their dreams and transform their lives. They specialize in helping people traditionally considered difficult to treat, such as those who are indigent, have multiple disorders, or are involved with the criminal justice system. In order to achieve this, WestCare provides a variety of services, including substance abuse and addiction treatment, homeless and runaway shelters, domestic violence treatment and prevention, and mental health programs. These services are available to adults, children, adolescents, and families.
Alabama Non-Violent Offenders Organization (ANVOO) helps individuals with a non-violent criminal record. Their mission is to assists those seeking to regain their place in society by connecting them to resources and services to reach their full potential as productive members of their families.
